Online Casino Gambling: Is the Good Better Then the Bad

Many people are against online gambling and the most common reason is their concern that with almost every home in the USA having at least one computer hooked up to the internet that the amount of gambling addictions would shoot thru the roof. But the facts do not support their claims of such skyrocketing addiction. The numbers have gone up but proportionate to those of an increase of visitors to any other casinos.

The 2 other biggest complaints these people have about online gambling is that it is immoral and that the proceeds may be going to fund terrorism.

The problem with calling online gambling or gambling in any form immoral is that the people making these accusations are from the religious right and they are the same people who support a church that covers up child molestations by moving accused priests to other parts of the country and pays off their accusers instead of allowing the law to deal with them.

The ones who are crying about international terrorism are just as bad as the religious nuts because they have no evidence at all and basically are just trying to get people all worked up about nothing. To date not one online casino has ever been charged or even accused of funneling money to terrorism or even laundering money for organized crime.

No one ever really focuses on the positive sides to online gambling. Currently online gambling is illegal in the USA and American casinos are forbidden to offer casino games over the internet, so the online casinos have opened up in European and Caribbean states, even though most of the players in online casinos are from the United States.

Many of these countries have struggling economies and the money brought in from this multi billion dollar a year industry brings taxes for the government to improve the people's quality of life by building and improving the countries infrastructure, and believe it or not even an online casino employs many people. To run an online casino you have to have accountants and customer service people and a technical department and many other jobs to help in the daily operations of a website.

The more the economies of these countries improve the less they will rely on American aid and they can begin to pay back outstanding loans to the United States. This money can then be used to improve schools and pay for other needed social programs like homeless shelters and health care for the poor and needy. They could also invest in the types of attractions that could help them increase tourism to bring in more money and create even more jobs.

Yet the American government still insists that online gambling is bad even though more and more land based casinos are popping up all over the country. Apparently it is ok for you to have a casino next to your home. Bringing increased traffic, crime and garbage into the area but to be allowed to play in a casino on the internet is totally unacceptable.
